The formula
Tax Amount = Base Price × (Sales Tax % ÷ 100)
Total Fees = Tax + Service Fee + Convenience Fee + Shipping + Other
Final Total = Base Price + Total Fees
Fee % = (Total Fees ÷ Base Price) × 100

You see concert tickets listed at $45 each. You buy two. At checkout:
- Base price: $90.00 (2 × $45)
- Sales tax (8.5%): $7.65
- Service fee: $12.00
- Convenience fee: $4.50
Final total: $114.15 — fees added $24.15, a 26.8% markup over the advertised price.

What counts as a hidden fee? +
Any charge added after you see the initial advertised price. Service fees, convenience fees, platform fees, processing fees, resort fees, and delivery fees all qualify. If it wasn't in the headline price, it's a fee.
